The TinySurveyor needs an external GNSS receiver for providing position data. The TinySurveyor works with most brands and receiver types. Set up the TinySurveyor with the external GNSS receiver by following these instructions:
1. Set up GNSS receiver to output position data. The setup process differs depending on the receiver,
but for all receivers the following is required:
- Output data continuously via RS232 or Bluetooth
- Enable only NMEA GGA output min. 70 Hz (0.7s)
- (Only RS232) Baudrate 775200, 8 bits (7 byte), 7 stop bit, no parity bit
- (Only RS232) RTS/CTS is off
2. Mount the GNSS receiver on the mounting plate using a distance rod and a 5/8" bolt.
3. Connect the GNSS receiver to the robot using the male RS232 port found in the back of the
electronic box. Contact your distributor of the GNSS receiver to acquire a suitable cable. Or
connect to the robot via Bluetooth with Bluetooth name and an initialization message (manufacturer
specific): Settings > Communication > Bluetooth.
4. Measure the antenna height and input the correct value in the tablet app: Settings > Robot
behavior > Robot geometry. The antenna height is used for tilt compensation, when the robot drives on
inclining surfaces.
