Description
Antinapping is a filter that will help the robot make straight lines when the grass strength is pushing the robot out of its path.
When antinapping is used, the robot will automatically drive at a slow speed, which means it is important to make sure that the robot's speed is set to slow, if antinapping isn't enabled on all lines. This is to ensure the lines all get the same amount of paint and brightness added to them.
Take notice of:
The robot will drive with slow spray speed on lines with antinapping. To get the best result and equal brightness on the lines go to: Settings > Robot Settings > Spray speed > Slow speed.
Antinapping can be beneficial when there is strong thick grass or if the grass is cut and rolled in a pattern, pushing the robot out of its path. (Illustration: "What is napping?" This can be found at the bottom of the article). This feature will result in more straight lines.
This improved feature is available on the app 9.8.5 and together with robot software 9.10.9.
How to enable Antinapping:
1. Select the field you want to activate Antinapping on.
2. Press Modify > Edit > Advanced.
3. From Advanced settings, tap the lines you wish to enable Antinapping on - Tap until they become blue. Press OK > Save
4. Antinapping is now enabled on the blue lines.
What is napping?
Napping is a term used to describe grass strength and direction. Napping is a problem that occurs when soccer clubs cut and roll the grass resulting in patterns like below.
When the direction of the grass (the napping) switches from i.e. left to right it pushes the robot to the side. This causes the robot to react and correct the mistake, resulting in a wobbly line as seen below.
Example of napping
The line to the left is painted without Antinapping.
- Here you can see how uneven a line can be when the robot is exposed to napping.
The line to the right is painted with Antinapping.
- Here you can see the robot has straightened the line out and it becomes way more acceptable
