What causes satellite issues?
When the robots are driving near trees or buildings, the signal from the satellites can be disturbed. The signal can either be blocked by the tree or building (loss of signal) or it can be reflected by the tree or building (known as multi-path).
The result is that the robot does not know its exact position.
How do I fix it?
The robots are equipped with software to minimize the effect of satellite issues. We call this feature the Tree Filter due to its ability to filter out noise caused by trees and buildings.
You need to enable this software feature where necessary. Click here for more information.
Other options for better results
- Where possible, clear the surroundings as much as possible to ensure the best view to the sky for the robot.
- Reduce the driving speed of the robot when it is working. This can be done in the app by going to Settings > Robot behavior.
